Join us at 'Home' this October!

Since 1887, people have called Benson Baptist their 'church home.' Some have moved away, others have moved to other communities of faith, but all have known this place as a home-base for their faith journey for some time in their lives.

That's why 'Homecoming' is named what it is. No matter where life has taken you, you can always come back to a place you once knew as home! We hope that you'll join us on Sunday, October 16 as we gather to recognize all that God has done in the 135 years of BBC's existence!

Schedule of Events

9:30 AM - Donuts & Coffee

Join us for donuts and coffee in the Fellowship Hall Welcome Center beginning at 9:30 AM.

10:30 AM - Homecoming Worship Service

At 10:30 AM we'll gather in our main Sanctuary auditorium to worship in the same space that BBCers have for over 100 years. We'll gather for a 'unity' service composed of both contemporary and traditional elements.

Leading in our worship service will be Rev. Dr. Harold Mitchell, BBC's pastor from 1968-1972, and Martha Chapman, BBC's Minister of Youth Activities and Music from 1974-76.

Following the Service - Congregational Photo

Following the worship service we will gather on the front steps of the Sanctuary to update our congregational photo.

As we do this, we'll join in a tradition that the congregation has done since the Sanctuary was dedicated in the 1920s!

Noon - Church-wide Luncheon

After the service and photo, we'll gather in the Fellowship Hall for a special Homecoming celebration luncheon provided by our Kitchen and Flower and Social committees. Please bring a side a dessert to share!

We will also have a virtual timeline as a part of the luncheon's program!

All are invited to this event which will highlight more of our 135th anniversary celebration as we gather together!
